| Students have the opportunity to study a generalist Commerce program at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the Business School. The first year of the Bachelor of Commerce degree provides foundation courses for students wishing to pursue a career in business. Students then have a choice of more advanced level electives from accounting, finance, international business, management or marketing as well as elective options from other Schools. This is a good program for students who want to specialise in more than one area or who want to undertake a range of business-related courses, rather than specialising in one particular field. The program enables students to develop their academic and knowledge base for a career in business or so they can use their business expertise in other areas of employment.
The general program for the Master of Commerce also offers flexibility so students can choose from the accounting, finance, management or marketing disciplines*. This program would suit candidates who want to study business-related courses in more detail at postgraduate level, and also suit candidates who already have a non-business undergraduate degree but for personal or professional reasons want to develop their business knowledge and qualifications.
* Enrolment in some courses may be restricted due to assumed knowledge requirements.
