Information Sessions for Undergraduate ApplicantsJanuary Information Evening Tuesday 6th January 2009, Union Cinema5:15 to 5:40pm Business School overview and Bachelor of Commerce – Come and hear from our Academics and Honours students about our highly regarded Bachelor degrees within the business community and how they provide an excellent foundation for a career in commerce and business locally, nationally, and internationally. 5:45 to 6:40pm Bachelor of Finance - A degree in Finance is perhaps one of the most sought after qualifications in the business community, especially after recent financial market turmoil. The courses that make up a degree in Finance train individuals to consider the complex and dynamic relationships that exists in a global market place. Our graduates are in demand in various aspects of the finance industry that range from working with regulators (such as the RBA, ASX, State Treasury departments, etc.), non-financial organisations (such as BHP, Telstra, News Corp. etc.), and specially financial institutions (that include Retail and Commercial Banks, Insurance, Funds Management, Financial Advisory Services, Global Wealth Management Services, and Investment Banking etc.). Most students enter our finance program to get a global overview of the finance industry, with emphasis on regions that influence, as well as those that are influenced by, the Australian economy. This presentation will outline the rigorous and technical education that prepares students for an exciting and dynamic career in the finance industry.
