Magdalena Hadji - Australia
Business Strategist - Blue Sky Thinking
My previous employer approached me to undertake the MBA program, and I
found the experience to be totally enriching in exercising the mind and forging
business and social networks. The University of Adelaide Business School offers
excellent lecturers who professionally practice the learnings they espouse,
facilitate engaging class debate and rigorous case-study analysis.
The flexibility of Adelaide’s MBA program allows the ability to
pursue extra-curricular activities. I captained University teams and represented
the Business School in Sydney at the finals of the Boston Consulting
Group business strategy competition and at the National Wine Centre for the
finals of the Entrepreneur’s Challenge. The lecturers were willing
to offer their valuable time and assistance mentoring my teams, and the experience
and contacts made through these competitions fuelled my resulting career
change.
I began my MBA studies whilst at Hills Industries in a senior management
role, progressing to executive management reporting to the Group General
Manager. As a result of pursuing MBA strategy and entrepreneurship electives
and activities, together with professional relationships forged through the
program, I have now begun my own consultancy as a successful Business Strategist.
Whilst still completing my MBA, I delivered a conference paper with two
of my professors as co-authors at an international business conference on
leadership and entrepreneurship. I have now been accepted to publish my paper
as a journal article in the peer-reviewed Journal of Asia Entrepreneurship
and Sustainability. There is no doubt in my mind that the commitment required
to complete an MBA is duly rewarded and amazing opportunities abound for
those wishing to seize them.
