I completed the Professional Management Program (PMP) with Executive Education at the University of Adelaide in
2001. Through it I gained basic management skills, which stimulated a significant
change in my career direction from science into senior management.
I enrolled
in the MBA program in 2005, with two units accredited for PMP graduates.
Studying part-time, I was concerned about extra demands on my limited free
time. The MBA program appealed to me because I had thoroughly enjoyed the
PMP and the program was structured so that I could exit at various
points with recognised qualifications if the workload was too great.
The
MBA program was challenging and demanding but stimulating and interesting
at the same time. An MBA provides diverse training across a breadth of topics
ranging from accounting and finance, through entrepreneurship and strategy,
to negotiation and law. While these skills are necessary for business management,
they also relate to every day life.
We live in a rapidly changing environment.
The MBA provides the tools to meet life’s many challenges. I’d
recommend the Business School to anyone. The course is well recognised,
the school is well run, and you study with motivated people from diverse
backgrounds.
