Ernst & Young
I graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) in 2005 and am now working for Ernst & Young in the Adelaide office audit division.
During the second year of my studies I participated in the Ernst & Young vacationer program. This opportunity enabled me to put to good use accounting principles I had learnt at university. In particular, the communication skills I had developed as part of the commerce degree helped me to demonstrate confidence and knowledge in dealing with the firm’s clients. As a result I was offered a fulltime position upon completion of my studies.
Now that I am working fulltime, I find the theoretical and practical knowledge gained at Adelaide University are invaluable in dealing with the daily demands of life as an auditor. As a requirement of my employment I will soon be embarking on the CA program where my prior studies will prove invaluable.
As well as the obvious educational benefits of studying the Commerce degree at Adelaide, I have found that I also developed lifelong friendships and networking contacts that I believe will help me further my career in the future.
